Tricity witnessed one of its biggest mega charity events- Sparkles 2k17, organised by the student run not for profit organization NavSankalp.

The event organized completely to raise funds was inaugurated by the Honourable Chief Guest, Shri Anurag Aggarwal, IAS, Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration. The other guests of honours present were- Smt Asha Jaswal (Mayor), Smt Garima Singh , IRS (Additional Income Tax Commissioner) and Shri Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS (Deputy Commissioner's).

Thereafter, deepshikha was lightened by the Chief Guest, the teachers in-charge and the organizing committee; followed by the National Anthem.

This was followed by the NavSankalp's usual act of kindness- the donation, wherein they donated an amount of Rs. 1,94,000 to the patients- Karan, Mustaq and Lakshay.

Ensuingly, the mega charity event began!
Be it solo or group dance performances by Lassya and The Bow Crew; the audience could not resist dancing along. Not breaking the every year tradition, Vatika Chandigarh's students' (deaf and dumb)performance, won the hearts of the audience.

The audience was found going gaga over the amazing singing performances by Guruharsh, Abhijeet and Khushvir. The Stand up comedy, modelling and the evergreen 'NavSankalp Dance Drama group' did not fail to make the crowd go crazy. The modelling had a theme and a social message to spread,'Beti Bachao , Beyond Padhao'.

Finally, the much awaited star performance by Hardy Sandhu and Zora Randhawa happened. It was a delight to see the audience enjoying as the stars did what they are best at! Songs like Wonderland and Soch made the crowd jump out of their seats and dance. It was indeed an amazing pack of performance.

NavSankalp did it yet again! After having saved more than 128 lives and having donated more than 50 lakh INR, Sankalpians made SPARKLES a success. With the aim of providing financial aid to the patients below the age of 17 years who can not even think of affording the same; the Sankalpians successfully conducted the event and managed to raise enough funds to shine the lights in such dark lives.
